Bell-Whitley Head Start is seeking proposals for a 4-post hip roof shade structure to cover the existing playground at Whitley East Elementary. Minimum dimensions for the shade are to be 28' x 36' with a 12' eave height. Respondents are to submit a price for installation of that shade as well. To ensure accurate measurements and clearance of existing playground equipment, all applicants are invited to make a site visit. Please include the price of engineered drawings with your proposal. If Bell-Whitley Head Start decides not to mandate these drawings, the price of those drawings will be deducted from the total. The shade is to be placed at Whitley East Elementary 13781 KY-92, Williamsburg, KY 40769. Two (2) of the posts will be located outside the fence around playground, and two (2) of the posts will be located on the existing concrete pad within the playground area. Respondent is responsible for removal and disposal of a portion of the existing concrete to set two (2) of the shade footings and will include that price in their proposal. Respondent is to restore damaged concrete to it's original state as part of their installation price. Respondent is to seed and straw damaged grassy area outside the playground fence as part of their installation price. If any fence removal is necessary during the installation process, respondent is to return the fence back to it's current state after the shade installation is complete. All proposals are due at no later than 10:00 local time on 5/17/19 at Bell-Whitley's Main Offices located in Pineville, KY. Sealed Bids are to be labeled Bell Whitley / Whitley East Shade Install and mailed to Bell Whitley, P.O. Box 159, Pineville, KY 40977. Sealed bids will be received until 10:00 o'clock AM EST, May 17, 2019, and then at said office opened and read aloud. Minority and Women-Owned Business enterprises are encouraged to bid. The agency reserves the right to waive any informality or reject any and all bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 10 days after actual date of opening thereof.
